According to ChainCatcher, Chinese influencer Dishi said during a livestream that he was allegedly set up by Sun Zeyu, a blockchain industry acquaintance of eight years and the founder of Genesis Capital, suffering cumulative losses of tens of millions of yuan. Dishi said he had long viewed Sun as a trustworthy friend and had asked him to purchase Bitcoin and Ethereum on his behalf, while also investing in an exchange Sun was operating in South Korea. After looking into the matter, Dishi said some of the supposed Ethereum he received may in fact have been assets on a fabricated chain built specifically by the other party. He added that the chain had only seven addresses in total, six of which were tied to Sun, with his own being the only other address. Dishi also said Sun had previously helped him cash out several million yuan, which made the arrangement appear legitimate. He said the scheme lasted eight years and that, had it not been uncovered in time, his losses could have climbed to hundreds of millions of yuan if token prices kept rising.
